Most of us move through the day slightly braced.

Managing. Anticipating. Interpreting.

This short guided practice helps you slow down and experience listening differently — not as analysis, but as contact.

No silence required.

Just headphones and about 15 minutes.

In this practice, you’ll:

• Listen without labeling

• Notice the space between impulse and response

• Experience sound as something arriving, not something to control

• Reset your orientation before choosing your next move

Practice 1

Listening without playing

For the first few minutes, don’t make any sound.

  • Listen to what’s already happening.

  • Ambient sound.

  • Your breath.

  • Sensations in the body.

Notice impulses to act, fix, or explain.
Let them pass.

There’s nothing to accomplish here.
Just notice what it’s like to listen without needing to respond.

When the time feels right, move on.
