Hi from me, and welcome to this new forum!
For years, people have told me what happens when they sit down at the piano and just let sound come out. Sometimes it comes in an email after a session. Sometimes it happens on a group call when someone shares what they noticed with others on the call.
I've heard a lot of it. Most of you haven't.
That's part of why I'm opening this space. If you've already done this work with me, you know what it can do. Now you can put that into words where other people can actually read it, not just the people on that one call or in that one email thread.
If you're new here and just looking around, you might not really know what this practice is yet. That's normal. This practice is uncommon, to say the least, and there's no quick way to sum it up, although this is my most recent shot at it:
Piano improvisation for beginner's mind, so you can fight less and play more.
That's a start, but reading what other people write here, in their own words, might be the clearest way to get a feel for it. Better than anything I could explain up front.
So here's the invitation. Write about something that happened for you. A question you're still sitting with. Something you noticed in yourself. Something someone said on a call that stuck with you.
Anything that seems to touch on that ineffable experience of deeper connection with our creative source energy that we long for and that feels so amazing in those magical moments when we're able to let it happen.
I'll look forward to seeing what might be wanting to happen here!
